Q: I’M A COMPLETE BEGINNER AND TOTALLY INFLEXIBLE. ARE YOUR CLASSES SUITABLE FOR ME?
A: Yes. My Hatha, Pregnancy, Postnatal, Restorative and Children's, Teens' & Family Yoga classes are suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners. You don’t need to be flexible, fit or strong to start. That comes as a consequence of practicing yoga; it’s not a prerequisite. I also run regular Yoga for Beginners courses which are ideal if you'd like to learn or revisit the fundamentals of yoga at a steady pace.
Q: I HAVE AN INJURY OR A MEDICAL CONDITION. IS YOGA SUITABLE FOR ME?
A: If you have an injury or medical condition which may affect your yoga practice, please contact me if you are unsure as to whether the class is suitable for you.
Q: DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
A: I provide all the mats and props for my classes but you are also welcome to bring your own. You might like to bring a bottle of water and it’s also nice to bring a blanket or something warm to pop on for the savasana (relaxation) at the end, so you’re nice and snug.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
A: It’s best to wear comfortable clothing such as leggings or shorts and a t-shirt or vest. You don’t need footwear as yoga is done with bare feet.
Q: SHOULD I EAT ANYTHING BEFORE CLASS?
A: It’s best not to eat a heavy meal within two hours before the class. A light snack is fine.
Q: IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?
A: All of the venues that I use have free parking next to the building. The maps on my group classes page are compatible with Google maps on most smartphones so you can easily navigate to the venue.
Q: DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE FOR A CLASS?
A: My classes are busy so please do contact me to book a place before you come to your first class. For my Hatha & Hatha Flow Yoga classes and Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes there is the option of paying for a block of classes and also the option of dropping in. My Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga and Children's, Teens' & Family Yoga classes are only paid for in blocks and must be booked in advance. My Yoga for Beginners and Yoga for Runners courses are also booked in advance.
Q: HOW DOES BLOCK PAYMENT WORK?
A: Block payment covers a certain number of weeks between set dates. With a block booking, you are welcome to come to any class each week (based on one class per week), double up one week if you miss a week and send a friend in your place. However if you miss a class and don’t use it within the block period the payment is non-refundable and non-transferrable to future blocks. For my Hatha & Hatha Flow Yoga classes and Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes there is also the option of dropping in. If you’d like details on the next block dates for any of my classes please contact me.
Q: I’D LIKE TO COME TO CLASS MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK. WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
A: You can book a double block, giving you two classes a week. Or, if you don’t know if you’ll definitely be able to come twice a week you could pay for one block and then drop in for additional classes.
Q: HOW MUCH DO THE CLASSES COST?
Children’s, Teens' & Family Yoga (30 - 45 minutes) = £5 / £6 when booked as a block of classes.
Q: HOW DO I PAY?
A: If you’re paying for a block of group classes, a workshop or a retreat, please contact me so that I can send you my bank details for an online transfer in advance of the first class or event. If you are paying for a drop in, you’re welcome to pay in cash or by debit or credit card on the day.
Q: DO YOU RUN CLASSES DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?
A: Yes. I don’t organise blocks in line with school terms and I continue through the school holidays. However occasionally I might be away during school holidays. If you’ve never been to one of my classes before please contact me before your first class to check that the classes are running as usual.
Q: DO ANY MEN COME TO YOUR CLASSES?
A: Yes, I have a number of men who come to my classes.
Q: DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE TUITION?
A: Yes. I teach you in your home at a time that suits you and I bring the mats and props. Classes cost £50 per hour. There are more details on my private tuition page.
Q: WHEN CAN I START PREGNANCY YOGA CLASSES AND HOW FAR INTO MY PREGNANCY CAN I CONTINUE?
A: My Pregnancy yoga classes are suitable from 14 weeks onwards and you can continue all the way until the birth of your baby. There are more details on my Pregnancy Yoga page.
Q: WHEN CAN I START POSTNATAL YOGA CLASSES AND WHEN WILL MY BABY BE TOO OLD?
A: My Postnatal yoga classes are suitable from 6 weeks after the birth of your baby and you can continue until your baby is crawling. There are more details on my Postnatal Yoga page.
