Establishing a home practice is a great way to increase the frequency of your yoga practice in between classes to bring greater benefit to your mental and physical wellbeing.
By having an independent practice there’s space to explore the postures and practices in your own time. This allows you to choose what you do, move at your own pace and to listen and respond to your body according to how you feel on any particular day.
People often say to us that they’d like to practice at home in between classes however they are unsure how to go about it. In this workshop we’ll explore topics such as timing, frequency, equipment and space, whilst also discussing how to choose which postures to practice and how to put them together. You’ll come away with some sequences to get you started, including asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation.
The first section of the workshop will be discussion and exploration, and we’ll end with a gentle practice.
All yoga equipment is provided, however you are welcome to bring your own. Please bring a notebook and pen and a bottle of water.
There will be the opportunity to purchase yoga mats and props at the end.
A basic knowledge of some yoga poses is recommended but not essential. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the suitability of this workshop.
